Comments:
My first "official" composition, written for the Contemporary Composition class that I took at Humboldt State University. The three movements together function as sort of a bastardized Sonata form, with the first movement acting as the Exposition, the second as the Development, and the third as the Recapitulation. In addition to the thematic material, the three movements are united around the Eb minor octatonic scale, although in the first movement the right hand plays in E octatonic in order to creat more dissonance.
